USGS gazetteer description: Falls located 600 ft inside Thunderhead Falls tunnel and drop over a 32 ft precipice.

Name history: Artificial waterfall created when miners in the late 1870s blasted a tunnel to direct water of Rapid Creek to make it easier to find gold thought to be in the stream bed.
